NOTICE ON THE OPENING OF THE CHINESE VISA APPLICATION SERVICE CENTER IN HO CHI MINH CITY

  To facilitate people-to-people exchanges between China and Vietnam and provide greater convenience and comfort in the application of consular certificates, the Chinese Visa Application Service Center in Ho Chi Minh City(referred to as “the Visa Center” hereinafter) will start providing services for the application of consular certificates from 10th September, 2019. These services include issuing visa for China (Mainland), visa for Hong Kong SAR and Macao SAR of China, collecting biometric information, collecting visa fees for the Chinese Consulate General(including expedition fees), issuing visa and providing consultation. The Consulate General hereby notifies that:

  1. The opening ceremony of the Visa Center will be held in the morning of the 9th of September, during which it will suspend services.The Visa Center will start trial operation at 11:30 a.m.. During this time, applicants with regular passports can submit application to the Visa Center. Applicants should go to its website, fill in an online application form and make an appointment. After the Visa Center officially opens on the 10th September 2019, the Chinese Consulate General will stop issuing visa for China (Mainland), and visa for Hong Kong SAR and Macao SAR of China. Applicants should apply for the above-mentioned visas at the Visa Center.

  Opening hours: 09:00 - 16:00 from Monday to Friday (Notices on holiday opening hours will be issued separately)

  2. If you are holding a diplomatic or official passport, or applying for a diplomatic, official, courtesy or R visa, please come to the Chinese Consulate General for application (an appointment is not required). The Chinese Consulate General will continue to provide notarization and authentication services and issue passports and travel documents. Opening hours of the Chinese Consulate General is from 08:30 to 11:00 and 14:30 to 16:30 (Notices on holiday opening hours will be issued separately).   3. The Visa Center collects visa application fees and expedition fees for the Chinese Consulate General, and service fees for itself. Applicants can choose VIP services. For more information on VIP services and charges, please consult the Visa Center. The hotline of the Visa Center is published on its website.

  4. The Visa Center is not involved in visa approval. Consular officers of the Chinese Consulate General will determine whether to issue a visa, and its validity, duration of stay and the number of entries based on the applicant's personal information. Consular officers can request other certificates and documents from the applicant, or an interview with the applicant accordingly.

  5. Except for the Visa Center, the Chinese Consulate General has not authorized other institutions or individuals to provide consular certificate services. Applicants are advised to treat relevant information with caution.
